We had another successful conference this year which included an agenda filled with very informational training sessions. We continue to get good feedback about the conference being held at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel and MAPSA intends on continuing to hold our annual conference at Mystic Lake. Here are some of the highlights of this year’s conference!
Judge Mark Wernick was the conference’s keynote speaker and gave a very informational presentation on bail, public safety, and pretrial detention.

Bob Fletcher with the Center for Somalia History Studies provided an excellent training on radicalization of Somali youth and his agency’s efforts to prevent youth from joining extremist groups.

Bree Adams, Program Director/Blueprint for Safety Coordinator for the Saint Paul and Ramsey County Domestic Abuse Intervention Project provided a thorough training on how the Saint Paul community is addressing domestic violence through the Blueprint for Safety program.

Jim Sawyer with the National Association of Pretrial Services Agencies provided an update on NAPSA’s current efforts in implementing best pretrial practices nation-wide including ongoing trainings and certification programs.

Staff with the Office of Medical Cannabis provided a very informational training on Minnesota’s Medical Cannabis Program.

Tessa MacDonald and Amy Hertzog with Wright County Court Services, members of the MAPSA Board, making sure everything is running smoothly!
