The 20th MAPSA Conference took place on Wednesday, April 26th at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel. Thank you to members who were able to attend and a special thanks to our speakers, vendors and award winners! The conference started off with keynote speaker, Lori Eville from NIC presenting on Framework for Pretrial Justice and provided information to agencies to have an effective pretrial agency. She was followed by speaker Katie Schurrer from the State Court Administrator’s Office. Katie presented on the MN Pretrial Release Initiative and provided an update on the status of the initiative. Marie Larsen from the New Ulm Medical Center presented on Suboxone and provided facts and fiction surrounding it. The day wrapped up with The St. Louis County Mental Health Court Team panel that presented on their practices and missions of their court. The Board of Director’s Award was presented to The Next Step Program from St. Louis County; Dan Lew, Chief Public Defender 6th Judicial District accepted the award.
